Welcome to our website about mushrooms and mushroom growers. Mushrooms grow on soil or on a food source. Mushrooms are a good source of B vitamins such as riboflavin, niacin, a pantothenic acid which help break down protein, fat, and carbohydrates to help maintain energy. When you buy mushrooms from local markets or supermarkets, should look for fresh and smell good ones. Avoid mushrooms that have any whiff of a mildew, mold, or musty smell rather than a clean, woody scent. Also avoid mushrooms that look shrivelled, desiccated, darkened, wet, or mouldy. The exact texture will depend on the variety of mushroom, of course, but in general, mushrooms should be relatively firm, not limp or squishy. Mushrooms are also sold as canned or dried. Fresh mushrooms can be stored in the fridge for a week or two. We recommend that you always eat the kind of mushrooms you know. We also recommend that you avoid eating mushrooms that you find in the forest and you do not know anything about it.
Our aim is to provide information about mushrooms and producers. If you have any problems with the mushroom growers on our page, please give us a feedback.
